Senior Fundraising Officer

Salary: £38,000 FTE
Contract: 6–12 month interim contract
Hours: Full-time, 35 hours per week
Location: London

We are partnering with an established charitable foundation and grant-making organisation that works closely with communities, businesses, donors and charitable funders to support organisations tackling poverty, inequality and other pressing social issues.

The organisation is looking for an experienced and relationship-focused Senior Fundraising Officer to join the team on an interim basis for an initial period of 6–12 months.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced fundraiser to take on a broad, varied role, working closely with senior colleagues to develop supporter relationships, strengthen fundraising activity, and help generate additional income to support communities and charitable organisations.

About the Role

Reporting to the Fundraising Director and working closely with the wider team, the Senior Fundraising Officer will play an important role in delivering fundraising and supporter-engagement activity across a range of income streams.

You will help manage and develop relationships with existing and prospective supporters, identify new funding opportunities and support the development of compelling proposals and engagement plans.

The role offers exposure to corporate partnerships, individual giving, charitable trusts, public-sector relationships and wider fundraising initiatives.

As a senior member of the fundraising function, you will be expected to work with a good degree of autonomy, take ownership of relationships and opportunities, and support the organisation to maintain momentum across its fundraising activity.

Key Responsibilities

You will:

• Develop and manage relationships with existing and prospective donors and supporters.
• Identify and research new fundraising and partnership opportunities.
• Build relationships with corporate partners, individuals, charitable trusts and public-sector organisations.
• Develop compelling proposals, pitches, presentations and funding applications.
• Support and attend donor meetings, events and engagement activities.
• Help develop fundraising pipelines and ensure opportunities are progressed effectively.
• Produce high-quality donor communications, appeals, briefings and impact reports.
• Work closely with senior colleagues to develop supporter engagement and stewardship plans.
• Support corporate volunteering and wider partnership opportunities.
• Monitor fundraising activity and provide clear updates on progress, opportunities and priorities.
• Contribute ideas and insight to strengthen the organisation’s wider fundraising approach.

About You

You are likely to bring:

• Strong experience within fundraising, partnerships, business development or income generation.
• Experience of developing and managing relationships with donors, funders or corporate partners.
• A track record of supporting or securing income through relationship-based fundraising.
• Strong written communication skills, including experience developing proposals, applications or donor communications.
• Confidence engaging with senior stakeholders and representing an organisation externally.
• Excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
• The ability to manage multiple fundraising opportunities and competing priorities.
• A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
• The confidence to work independently while collaborating closely with colleagues.

Experience across more than one fundraising income stream would be particularly valuable, although we are equally interested in candidates with strong transferable experience in partnerships, business development, or corporate engagement.

Above all, we are looking for someone who enjoys building meaningful relationships, can quickly get up to speed in a new organisation and is motivated by using their fundraising skills to create positive social impact.
