East End Community Foundation (EECF) is a philanthropic foundation and grassroots grant-maker that has been bringing donors closer to communities across East London for more than 35 years.
Working across Tower Hamlets, Hackney, Newham and the City of London, EECF combines deep knowledge of local communities with expertise in philanthropy. It works with donors and charitable fund holders to direct funding towards grassroots organisations addressing poverty, inequality and other pressing local issues.
East End Community Foundation is now seeking a talented, relationship-focused Development Officer to help grow the funding available to communities across East London.
About the Role
Reporting to the Life Chances Campaign Director and working closely with the Chief Executive and colleagues across EECF, the Development Officer will play an important role in helping the organisation achieve its income ambitions.
Key Responsibilities
You will:
- Be the first point of contact for all enquiries relating to supporting EECF and the Life Chances Campaign
- Help develop relationships with prospective and existing corporate, individual, public-sector and charitable trust supporters.
- Research prospective supporters and turn information into useful briefings and engagement opportunities.
- Support the development of compelling proposals, pitches and donor meetings.
- Help deliver fundraising initiatives, sponsored activities and supporter events.
- Build strong relationships with corporate donors, supporting volunteering opportunities and wider engagement.
- Work with colleagues to produce donor communications, appeals and impact reports that demonstrate the difference supporters make.

About You
You are likely to bring:
- Experience within fundraising, sales or CSR.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- The confidence to engage professionally with a wide range of stakeholders.
- Excellent organisation and attention to detail.
- The ability to manage several priorities in a busy environment.
- A proactive, tenacious and personable approach.
- An understanding of fundraising and how strong supporter relationships translate into sustainable income.
