For more than 160 years, British Home has provided specialist care and neurorehabilitation for adults living with complex neurological conditions, including acquired brain injury, stroke, and progressive neurological diseases.
British Home is entering an important period of development, having expanded its clinical services with a Level 2b intensive neurorehabilitation service and specialist tracheostomy care provision, supporting its ambition to become a national leader in neurological rehabilitation and therapeutic care.
As the charity continues to evolve and develop its facilities, the Board is seeking to appoint a Property and Asset Management Trustee who can provide strategic oversight of the organisation’s estate, supporting long-term sustainability, compliance, and future development.
The Role
The physical environment plays a vital role in delivering high-quality care for people living with complex neurological conditions. Ensuring that facilities are safe, accessible, well-maintained, and fit for purpose is central to the charity’s ability to deliver excellent care.
As Property and Asset Management Trustee, you will bring professional expertise to support the Board in overseeing the organisation’s property strategy, asset management, and capital investment decisions.
Working alongside fellow Trustees and the executive team, you will help ensure that the charity’s estate continues to support high-quality care delivery while remaining financially sustainable and compliant with regulatory and safety requirements.
Your insight will also help guide future capital investment, estate improvements, and sustainability initiatives.

Desirable
- Insight into interior design and the role physical environments play in supporting therapeutic or care settings.
- Understanding of heritage or listed buildings and the planning considerations involved in their maintenance or redevelopment.
- Experience of capital project delivery or infrastructure investment within the voluntary, healthcare or public sector.
About You
You will bring strategic perspective, professional insight, and a collaborative approach, helping the Board ensure that the organisation’s estate continues to support safe, high-quality care.
You will also share British Home’s commitment to improving the lives of people living with complex neurological conditions and to strengthening the organisation's long-term sustainability and impact.
