Are you interested in lead critical change for children and families?
Family Rights Group is seeking a passionate Chief Executive Officer to lead the organisation into its next chapter of growth and influence.
For more than 50 years, Family Rights Group has championed the rights of children and families involved with children’s social care, providing advice and advocacy, influencing policy and practice, and helping shape child and family law.
With 12,000 more children in the care system than a decade ago and too many families struggling to access the support they need, its work is more important than ever. Significant new funding now creates an exciting opportunity to sustainably build on the charity’s established expertise and increase its impact.
This is an opportunity to lead a highly respected organisation through a pivotal period of development, strengthening its influence and helping deliver lasting change for children and families.
The role
Working closely with the Board and Senior Leadership Team, you will lead the delivery of Family Rights Group’s strategy, oversee sustainable organisational growth and harness the fantastic expertise and passion of our staff team.
Externally, you will be a leading voice for the charity, building relationships with policymakers, politicians and funders to influence law, policy and practice. You will lead the expansion of FRG’s policy work, legal influence, family group conference and Lifelong Links programmes, while ensuring that the voices and experiences of parents, kinship carers and young people remain central to FRG’s work.
You will also oversee income generation, financial sustainability and governance, ensuring the organisation is well positioned to deliver its ambitions.
About you
You will be a values-led strategic leader with a strong understanding of the issues affecting children and families and a track record of leading organisations through growth and change.
You will bring:
Experience of strategic leadership, organisational development and leading senior teams.
A track record of influencing policy and practice relating to children and families, ideally including securing legal or policy reform.
Experience of working alongside communities affected by social injustice and ensuring their voices inform change.
Strong influencing and partnership-building skills, including the ability to engage senior policymakers and Government officials.
Experience of securing funding, developing relationships with trusts, foundations and philanthropists, and maintaining financial oversight.
Above all, you will be a collaborative, rights-based leader who shares Family Rights Group’s commitment to social justice and believes that children should be able to thrive within their families, with loving relationships to turn to throughout life.
If you are an ambitious, values-driven leader ready to help shape the future for children and families, we would love to hear from you.
We welcome applications from candidates from all backgrounds and are committed to an inclusive recruitment process.
