The role
As Director of Finance, you will join the Leadership Team and play a critical role in ensuring the Trust’s long-term sustainability, financial integrity, and strategic delivery. Working closely with the Chief Executive and Board, you will lead financial strategy, strengthen performance and risk management, ensure robust governance and help shape decisions that guide the Trust’s impact.
Alongside financial leadership, you will oversee audit and statutory reporting, organisational performance against strategic objectives, and provide oversight of risk, data protection, and IT strategy.
About you
You will be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with a strong interest in social justice and a track record of operating at a senior level, leading financial strategy and advising Boards and executive teams.
You will bring:
- Experience in strategic financial planning, management accounts, and financial controls
- Experience working with Boards, committees, and senior stakeholders
- Strong understanding of governance, compliance, and risk management
- The ability to lead organisational performance reporting against strategic objectives
- Understanding of IT environments and systems
- A commitment to equity, diversity and inclusion, and an understanding of how structural inequalities impact health and wellbeing
You will be both strategic and hands-on, able to translate complex financial information into clear, actionable insight while contributing meaningfully to wider organisational leadership.
Our commitment to inclusion
The People’s Health Trust is committed to being a Disability Confident Employer. Our diversity data shows that we are currently underrepresented by certain groups of people. We particularly encourage applications from people from racially minoritised communities, disabled people, and people from disadvantaged backgrounds.
